At St Peter’s, we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of our children. We believe that a varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all of our children.
The PE and sport premium is part of a government initiative designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils so that they develop healthy lifestyles. Every primary school in the country has been provided with funding to support additional sports provision.
Funding allocations are calculated on the number of pupils in Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 as recorded on the January census. Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive £16,000 plus £10 per eligible pupil.
